PLEASE do not apply for this position unless you meet ALL of the qualifications below: Bachelor’s degree CA Single-Subject credential in Art or Music or Theater; OR verifiable subject-matter competency (e.g., a degree in one of the above fields, passage of the CSET or at least 20 units in relevant coursework). If not currently credentialed, teachers must be NCLB (No Child Left Behind) compliant by the end of the first school year (June 2010). Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must. Community Description:	Green Dot Public Schools is the leading public schools operator in Los Angeles and an important catalyst for education reform in the State of California. The non-profit organization’s work is directly focused on influencing the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) to transform its failing high schools into clusters of small successful schools and helping the district reinvent itself as one of the best school districts in the country. Green Dot has already opened nineteen successful charter high schools in some of the highest need areas of Los Angeles, and in doing so has demonstrated that public schools can do a far better job of educating students if they are operated more effectively. At this time, Green Dot operates high schools and one middle school (opening Fall 2010); no adult, elementary or vocational schools.
